Short Dramatic Speech
Scenes must be from a published play, or a dramatization from a story or novel. Scenes should be abridged so that the speeches of ONE character may be linked. Costuming is permitted.
Romantic Era Poets
Own Selection of one poem or excerpt from a romantic era poet such as Keats, Lord Byron, etc.
Sacred Reading
A passage from the Bible (King James Authorized Version is preferred for its majesty of language), the Book of Mormon, the Koran, Talmud, or other great sacred words, using an English translation.
Shakespeare Monologues
Own choice with a very brief introduction of the piece presented. Please state scene selection and time on entry form. A copy of material must be provided to the adjudicator prior to each class.

Own Choice of one sonnet

Dramatic presentation of a poem or excerpt from the work of a Canadian Writer. Please note that poets of Newfoundland and Labrador should be entered in the Newfoundland and Labrador Writers Class.
