Concert Group
FOR ALL BRASS CONCERT GROUP CLASSES, performing from memory IS NOT mandatory to proceed to the Instrumental Rose Bowl competition. All competitors will receive an adjudication and a mark providing all other requirements are met.
ABUSE OF TIME LIMIT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Competitors abusing the time limit will be adjudicated only, with no mark. Selections must be performed as a set, one following the other without interruption. This applies to all Concert Group Classes.

Additional selections will not be adjudicated.

Solo
The leveled classes of the festival correspond roughly to the level of difficulty of repertoire as indicated in the chart below. Students are required to perform music from RCM or Conservatory Canada syllabi only.
Competitors may participate in both classes offered at one designated level only. Title, composer, performance time and instrument should be specified at registration, else no later than January 31, 2025.
Level 6 - University level, ARCT (RCM) or Level 10
Level 5 - 5-6 years or Level 8-9
Level 4 - 4-5 years or Level 6-7
Level 3 - 3-4 years or Level 4-5
Level 2 - 2-3 years or Level 2-3
Level 1 - up to 2 – Preparatory or Level 1

Canadian Composition
OWN CHOICE of a selection by a Canadian Composer.
Selection must be in classical style, not a folk or pop song unless specifically arranged for brass solo. Must supply original music to adjudicator.
Instrument title and performance time should be specified at registration, else no later than January 31, 2025.
